I am currently 4-3 in my Purdue predictions. And as the saying goes, “better than average gets the cabbage.”

History

The series between the Purdue and Wisconsin football teams started in 1892. Purdue is currently 29-51-8 in the series. As of recently, the matchups have favored the Badgers.

  • Purdue has not beat Wisconsin since 2003 and in that game, they only won by three points. This puts Purdue at a 15-game losing streak against the Badgers.
  • The last game played in Madison was in 2019. Purdue lost that game with a score of 24-45.
  • Since 2004, seven of the games have been played in Madison. Wisconsin has won all those games and for the most part, the games have not been close. Starting with the most recent game, Wisconsin’s winning margins are 21, 8, 17, 31, 45, 37, and 11.

October 22

There have been three games played on October 22. Purdue is 1-2 in these games. The most recent of these games was in 2005. Wisconsin finished that season with a 9-3 record and Purdue finished with a 5-6 record.

The B Teams

Since 2008, excluding Wisconsin and Ohio State, Purdue has played six teams with a mascot that starts with the letter “B”. In these games, Purdue is 6-1.

W – Oregon State Beavers (2021)
W – Ohio Bobcats (2017)
W – Western Michigan Broncos (2014)
L – Cincinnati Bearcats (2013)
W – Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (2011)
W – Western Michigan Broncos (2011)
W – Northern Colorado Bears (2008)

In that same time span, excluding Purdue and Ohio State, Wisconsin is 7-1 against teams with a “B” mascot.

W – Army Black Knights (2021)
W – South Florida Bulls (2019)
W – Western Michigan Broncos (2016)(Bowl game)
W – South Florida Bulls (2014)
L – Oregon State Beavers (2012)
W – Oregon State Beavers (2011)
W – Fresno State Bulldogs (2009)
W – Fresno State Bulldogs (2008)

Prediction

Boilermakers build a bowl game season but become beaten because they ball bad against basic Badgers.
